Siemens Gamesa: record contract off British coast

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (SGRE) has been selected by Danish operator Ørsted to supply wind turbines for the marine farm called “Hornsea Project Two”.
The terms of the deal were not specified.

Found 89 km of the east coast of England, once completed in 2022, this facility, which is spread over 462 km2, will become the largest offshore wind farm in the world. It will be the largest offshore project in Siemens Gamesa's history.

In detail, the Spanish subsidiary of the German group which is specialised in wind turbines will provide SG 8.0-167 DD turbines with a cumulative capacity of 1,386 megawatts (MW). This represents annual electricity consumption for about 1.3 million homes.
