Siemens Gamesa: plans to build offshore wind plant in Taiwan
(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Gamesa announced plans to build a plant to manufacture offshore wind components in Taiwan, as well as other office facilities and storage areas.
Today, the German industrial giant's renewable energy division signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Taiwan International Ports Corporation taking it that direction.
Siemens Gamesa said the Taipei office would serve as its regional offshore wind hub in Asia-Pacific (APAC) excluding mainland China.
The offshore wind industry in Taiwan is currently looking at over 10 GW of projects, the company said.
