EDPR: wind farm now operational in Colorado

(CercleFinance.com) - Renewable energy group EDP Renewables today announced that it has begun commenced commercial operation of Crossing Trails, a new 104MW wind farm in the US, and has entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for the farm with the Tri-State Cooperative.


The project, located in the state of Colorado, consists of twenty 4.3 MW wind turbines and five 3.6 MW turbines. Crossing Trails will produce enough electricity to power the equivalent of approximately 45,000 homes in Colorado each year.

EDPR plans to further expand its presence in the country, with new PPAs, which strengthen its low-risk profile and growth strategy. At the end of Q1 2021, it had a total installed capacity of 6,495 MW in the US.
