Genmab: Darzalex approved in Japan

(CercleFinance.com) - Danish biotech Genmab announced on Thursday that it has obtained approval from the Japanese health authorities for the marketing of its anti-cancer drug Darzalex for the treatment of multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer.


Genmab says that this approval will trigger a 7 million dollar milestone payment from Janssen, the Johnson & Johnson subsidiary with which Genmab entered into a licensing agreement in 2012.

Under the terms of the partnership, Genmab entrusted Janssen with exclusive worldwide rights to develop, manufacture and distribute the drug.
