Siemens Healthineers: a billion euro acquisition

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Healthineers, the medical subsidiary of the German conglomerate, this morning announced the acquisition of the US company Corindus Vascular Robotics.


The German group will launch a takeover bid on the US medical equipment supplier at 4.28 dollars per share, valuing its capital at 1.1 billion dollars (about one billion euros at current exchange rates). This represents an instantaneous premium of over 75%.

As a specialist in robot-assisted vascular surgery, Corindus Vascular Robotics, which has about 100 employees, recommends this offer to its shareholders.

The deal is due to be completed by the end of 2019.
