Osram: ams holds 59.9 percent after takeover offer

(CercleFinance.com) - Austrian sensor specialist ams owns 59.
9 percent of German lighting group Osram following an all cash 4.6 billion-euro takeover offer for the company, ams said on Thursday.

The supplier of high performance sensors said it achieved this final acceptance level by the end of the additional acceptance period.

The closing of the offer - which remains subject to regulatory approvals - is expected to occur in the second quarter 2020, ams said.

ams now plans to ask its shareholders to vote on a rights issue intended to partially finance the acquisition at an extraordinary general meeting to be held on 24 January.
