Osram: merger with ams to be completed in late 2020

(CercleFinance.com) - German lighting group Osram has started talks with ams following the successful takeover bid by the Austrian sensor maker, with a view to completing their merger in the second part of 2020.


The companies have begun their talks, aiming to become a "world class photonics and sensor champion," Osram said.

The merger is still subject to antitrust and foreign trade approvals, which are expected to last until the summer of 2020, it added.

In the second half of 2020, the necessary steps could then be taken to merge the groups, Osram said.

Merger-related layoffs have been ruled out until the end of 2022, the company pointed out.
