Osram: launches new LED lighting tools for farmers

(CercleFinance.com) - Germany's Osram on Wednesday rolled out LED lighting tools in Europe which will make it easier for farmers to grow plants over the winter months.


The "Fluence" horticultural lighting system has been launched in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to help growers produce the best crops possible, the group said.

This move follows Osram's acquisition, last year, of Fluence Bioengineering, a Texas-based supplier of energy-efficient LED lighting for commercial crop production which was founded in 2013.

Fluence's LED lighting systems have been designed to help farmers achieve higher yields and higher quality than traditional horticultural lighting in greenhouse and multi-layer cultivation.
