Evonik: EU approves Huber Silica acquisition, on conditions.

(CercleFinance.com) - The European Commission has approved Evonik's acquisition of Huber Silica, subject to conditions.


The decision is subject to the sale of precipitated silica related businesses by these two companies - this is a chemical product used in tyres, toothpaste, defoamers, paints and coatings.

The Commission has therefore concluded that the proposed merger, with the amendments, would not result in any competitive issues, although the decision is subject to compliance with all the commitments that have been made.
