Siemens Energy: builds efuel plant in Chile

(CercleFinance.com) - Siemens Energy and Porsche, together with a number of international companies, are building a plant in Punta Arenas, Chile, for the production of near-zero CO2 fuel (eFuel).


The plant is expected to produce around 130,000 litres of eFuel in 2022. The capacity is then set to be increased to about 55 million litres of eFuel by 2024, followed by about 550 million litres of eFuel by 2026.

The group hence says that it is making a major and rapidly effective contribution to reducing CO2 emissions in the traffic and transport sector.
