E.ON: stock afloat thanks to analyst comments

ON shares are up about 0.5% at lunchtime on Thursday in a slightly bearish market in Frankfurt (-0.2%), benefiting from positive comments from Berenberg, which raised its target price for the stock.

In its comments, the German broker - which has a buy recommendation on the stock - said it considers the electricity and gas supplier to be the European leader in the energy transition.

It adds that its consumer and network-focused investments give it solid and sustainable growth opportunities.

In addition, these investments do not just support the implementation of ESG standards within the group, but more generally within the economy as a whole, they say, raising their target price from 11 euros to 13.2 euros (current price: 11.1 euros).
