E.ON: commissions two battery storage facilities in US

ON announces that it has put two 10 megawatt batteries into operation in Texas, with these Texas Waves lithium-ion energy storage units now supplying their services to the market.

"The batteries are able to react quickly to fluctuations in the power grid and thus improve security of supply for customers," the German energy group said.

Texas Waves is integrated with E.ON's Pyron and Inadale wind farms, combining renewable energy generation and battery storage to stabilize the grid. The group has already completed a similar project in Arizona.
