E.ON: selects Canada's Corinex for smart grid project

ON has chosen Canada's Corinex broadband technology over powerline for a smart metering rollout that is expected to last two years, the companies announced on Friday.

After extensive trials, E.ON has selected Corinex smart grid solution as the key technology in the smart metering communication infrastructure for the low voltage part of the grid.

The utility group said that broadband solutions are needed with the energy industry facing new challenges, such as the massive adoption of electric vehicles, as well as transition towards renewable energy sources.
