BASF: adjusted operating profit down 28% in 2019

(CercleFinance.com) - BASF has published 2019 operating profit excluding extraordinary items that is down 28% at 4.
5 billion euros, for a 2% contraction in sales to 59.3 billion euros, with declines in both volumes and prices.

With a cash flow from continuing operations that is down 6% at 7.5 billion euros, the German chemical giant will pay a dividend of 3.30 euros per share for 2019, compared to 3.20 euros for 2018..

For 2020, BASF anticipates an operating profit excluding extraordinary items of between 4.2 billion and 4.8 billion euros, as well as sales of between 60 billion,and 63 billion euros, based on 2% estimated global economic growth.
