Lufthansa: preliminary figures send shares down.

(CercleFinance.com) - Lufthansa shares are down over 3% on Tuesday, despite the German airline pre-announcing headline results that are ahead of the consensus.

Based on preliminary figures, Deutsche Lufthansa generated revenues that are up 13% at 17 billion euros over the first six months of 2017, while adjusted Ebit has almost doubled to 1.04 billion euros.

Lufthansa also increased its forecast for the full year, from adjusted Ebit "slightly below previous year" to "above previous year."

Analysts at Liberum still point out that "management's comments on the second-half outlook seem a little cautious."

From today's perspective, Lufthansa said it expects unit revenues at constant currency to be negative in the second half-year compared to the previous year.

In comparison, unit revenues at constant currency increased by 0.5% in the first half of 2017.

After these numbers, Lufthansa shares were down 3.2% at under 20.5 euros in early trading on Tuesday.
