Volkswagen: Trinity, electric car project for 2026

(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen has said a little more about the Trinity project: the German carmaker is working on the design of a high-tech electric saloon built in Wolfsburg (Germany) from 2026 onwards, which will set new standards in terms of range, charging speed and digitisation, and will be able to drive in a highly automated manner.


Trinity is a kind of crystallisation point of our Accelerate strategy, VW says. A strategy that aims to make the automobile a software product: cars will be manufactured with all the options on board and customers will be able to activate the desired functions "on demand" at any time via the car's digital ecosystem.

The market seems excited about this prospect - the VW share is up over 3.5% on Friday afternoon.
