Volkswagen: acquires camera software business

(CercleFinance.com) - On Tuesday Volkswagen announced that Car.
Software Org, its software business, has acquired the front camera software business area of software specialist HELLA Aglaia Mobile Vision GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of HELLA GmbH & Co.

Thanks to this deal, VW says that it wants to expand its capacities in the field of image processing and to forge ahead with the development of automated driving functions.

Around half of the Hella Aglaia workforce will join its teams as part of the transaction, which is expected to be finalised at the beginning of next year.
