Volkswagen: to partner Uber in Berlin project

(CercleFinance.com) - Volkswagen and Uber are launching a pilot project for the use of electric vehicles as part of the "Uber Green" service.

The aim of the pilot project is to use one-year-old e-Golf vehicles in order to offer users a zero-emission transport solution. Volkswagen has already been successfully using e-Golf for its own We Share car sharing service since 2018.

VW plans to offer electric cars in all major vehicle segments by 2022 and aims to become the world leader in electric mobility in the coming years with 1.5 million electric cars produced by 2025.

Uber, meanwhile, has announced its intention to move towards a zero-emission mobility platform by 2040.
