thyssenkrupp: names new COO for industrial solutions arm

(CercleFinance.com) - thyssenkrupp has named SMS group's Marcel Fasswald to succeed Johan Cnossen as chief operating officer (COO) of its industrial solutions arm, effective from 1 April.


Aged 48, Marcel Fasswald was previously chief technology officer and chief operating officer at German plant engineering company SMS group, where he was also a member of the managing board.

Johan Cnossen will step down at the end of March, taking on new responsibilities, such as the expansion of the international client network.

thyssenkrupp's industrial solutions unit includes businesses for the steel industry, ranging from mining and coke plant technologies to transportation and storage.
