Mercedes-Benz: introduces in-car payments

(CercleFinance.com) - Mercedes-Benz has announced that it is the first car manufacturer in the world to use Visa's delegated authentication technology and Visa Cloud Token Framework to enable secure native in-car payment.


From now on, customers in Germany can pay for digital services and on-demand hardware upgrades in the Mercedes me Store using an in-car fingerprint sensor.

In-car fingerprint payments will be extended to other services such as refuelling and to other European markets later this year.

By 2026, over 4.7 billion in-car payment transactions are expected worldwide.
