Daimler: shares down; Goldman starts with 'sell'

(CercleFinance.com) - Shares in Daimler fall almost 1 percent as Goldman Sachs initiates coverage with a "sell" recommendation and a 12-month price target of 42 euros, implying a 10% downside.

"Daimler faces a number of challenges both this year and next," Goldman analysts say in a note on European carmakers.

Regarding Daimler, the broker in particular cites challenges at Mercedes and vans, which it does not see diminishing in the near term, and a negative view on the US truck cycle in 2020.

Daimler shares are currently down 0.6% at 46.2 euros.
