Daimler: invests in Proterra

(CercleFinance.com) - At the IAA Commercial Vehicles trade fair in Hanover, Daimler Trucks & Buses announced an investment in the Californian company Proterra, which specialises in electric buses for local transport.


Regarding this investment, whose financial terms were not specified, the German car maker and Proterra signed an agreement to explore the electrification of some Daimler heavy freight trucks.

"In this way, we are broadening our scope in particular concerning the key technology of the battery - also with regard to North America," said Martin Daum, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG with responsibility for Daimler Trucks & Buses.
