Daimler: Mercedes-Benz car sales drop 8.5% in August

(CercleFinance.com) - Mercedes-Benz sales fell 8.
5% in August, due to model changes and delays in vehicle certification in some markets, the luxury division of parent company Daimler said on Monday.

In particular, in Europe, Mercedes-Benz saw its sales fall 10.7% to 54,989 vehicles over the past month, the carmaker said.

Even so, Mercedes-Benz said it has already passed a sales threshold of 1.5 million units for the first eight months of the year.

Never before in the company's history has this level been achieved so early in the year, Mercedes said.
