Linde: sells Praxair's European division

(CercleFinance.com) - As part of the merger of German industrial giants Linde and the US group Praxair, the latter will sell most of its European businesses, which will be taken over by the Japanese company Taiyo Nippon Sanso.


The scope concerned generated sales of 1.3 billion euros in 2017 and will be sold at a price of five billion euros. The transaction is conditional on the completion of the merger between Linde and Praxair, which is expected to be finalised in the second half of the year.

“Linde and Praxair consider a divestiture of such business to be necessary in order to allow merger clearance of the proposed business combination by the European Commission,” Linde added.
