Fresenius SE: set to profit from the US tax reform

(CercleFinance.com) - Fresenius SE, the German medical group with a strong presence in the United States, estimated on 22 December that the corporate tax cut from 35% to 21% in the United States “will have significant positive effects” on its accounts.


This tax cut recently voted by Congress in Washington and which formed part of the promises made by Trump as a candidate, will enter into force from 1 January 2018.

As the parent company of Fresenius Medical Care (FMC), the dialysis specialist, and of Kabi (clinical nutrition and infusion therapy), Fresenius SE indicates that this new legislation will lead to a re-calculation of its deferred taxes. This should lead to a (non-recurring) gain of around 90 million euros on the net results of 2017. Specifically, around 60 million euros of gains would be attributable to FMC and around 30 million euros to Kabi.
