Deutsche Telekom: wants to sell its Dutch subsidiary

(CercleFinance.com) - Deutsche Telekom would like to sell its Dutch subsidiary to a private equity fund according to Het Financieele Dagblad.

The negotiation price for this sale appears to be close to 4-4.5 billion euros. Another source speaks of almost 5 billion euros.

This is the largest Dutch telecommunications deal in years, which could boost competition on the Dutch market, the paper points out.

Several funds could be in talks regarding this deal, such as Warburg Pincus, Providence, Apollo, Cinven and Apex, according to the daily. Manager Magazin had mentioned an IPO or a sale of this subsidiary last November, Aurel BCG said this morning.

This subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom is number three on the Dutch telecommunications market after KPN and VodafoneZiggo.
