BMW Group: 2017 deliveries up 4.1% to new record
(CercleFinance.com) - German car maker BMW Group said deliveries rose 4.
1% to 2,463,526 Rolls-Royce, BMW and Mini vehicles in 2017, the seventh record year in a row, thanks to 15.1% increase in demand in China.
The Munich-based company said deliveries of its core BMW brand rose 4.2% to 2,088,283 cars, with BMW X SUV vehicles being one of the main drivers, thanks to a 9.6% increase in sales.
In comparison, rival Mercedes-Benz sold approximately 2.3 million cars in 2017, increasing its unit sales by 9.9%.
BMW's Mini brand also achieved a new sales record in 2017, with 371,881 vehicles delivered, up 3.2% on the previous year.
In its statement, BMW said it achieved its target of selling over 100,000 electrified vehicles in the last year.
