Deutsche Bank: signs multi-year deal with Google cloud

(CercleFinance.com) - Alphabet's cloud unit has entered into a multi-year deal with German banking giant Deutsche Bank as it continues its efforts to to close the gap with market leader Amazon.


The transaction will help Deutsche Bank use data "more intelligently" and provide a flexible environment to quickly deliver new products and services, Google Cloud said late on Friday.

The services also include mobile self-service options and artificial intelligence-based recommendations, the compnay added.

Under the deal, several cases are already being explored, including a unified, intuitive interface for retail customers in Germany to view the range of Deutsche Bank and Postbank products.

Google and Deutsche Bank are also working on the improvement of DB's Autobahn platform, its electronic service for corporate and institutional clients, towards more personalised recommendations.

Friday's announcement also includes the selection of promising start-ups and fintechs that are able to support the bank's client and transformation goals, Google Cloud said.
