Nestlé: invests to expand Nespresso production

(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss food giant Nestlé plans to invest 160 million Swiss francs (about 150 million euros) to expand production capacity in its Nespresso center in Romont, Switzerland, the company announced on Wednesday.


Construction of a second production hall is set to start in June 2021, increasing its capacity by 10 new production lines dedicated to the Vertuo line and professional ranges, the group said.

Nestlé said the move is intended to meet increasing demand for its high-quality premium coffees and support international development in the coming years.

The new production lines will add 300 new direct jobs over the next 10 years.

The first lines are expected to be fully operational by June 2022, Nestlé said.
