Nestlé: launches meatless pizza and lasagna in the US
(CercleFinance.com) - Nestlé USA is launching meatless pizza and lasagna made with a plant-based ground beef alternative as "meatless is going mainstream," the Swiss food giant said.
The new DiGiorno crust meatless supreme pizza and Stouffer's meatless lasagna recipes have the same high product quality, taste and texture, Nestlé said. Consumers are increasingly showing interest in adopting a "flexitarian" lifestyle, Nestlé said, meaning that they incorporate more plant-based meals into their diets, while occasionally eating meat or fish.
