Dufry: closes acquisition of Russian duty-free firm

(CercleFinance.com) - Dufry has closed the acquisition of a 60% stake in Russian duty-free company RegStaer Vnukovo, a deal that was announced earlier this year, the Swiss travel retailer said on Friday.


The deal includes more than 30 duty-free and duty-paid shops at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, which has around 22 million passengers per year, based on a long-term concession lasting until 2035.

The newly acquired entity will be fully consolidated as of November 2019, Dufry said.

With the closing of this transaction, Dufry has further consolidated its position in Russia, which includes operations in St. Petersburg and Sochi.
