ABB: invests in Montreal's startup BrainBox AI

(CercleFinance.com) - ABB today announced an investment in BrainBox AI, a Montreal-based startup that was one of the first to use artificial intelligence to reduce the energy costs and carbon emissions of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in commercial buildings.


The purchase is therefore in line with ABB's ambition to make buildings smarter, safer and more secure while improving energy efficiency and reducing CO2 emissions.

The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

After initially rising in the first exchanges today, the ABB share is currently down over 1.5% at just below 30 Swiss francs.
