ABB: wins another deal for electric vehicle chargers

(CercleFinance.com) - Swiss engineering group ABB has received an order from BMW and Daimler joint venture Ionity for further high-power electric vehicle (EV) chargers, the company said on Thurday.


The financial details were not disclosed, although ABB said that it has been chosen to deliver 324 chargers to be rolled out in 24 countries by the end of 2020, as part of the second phase of the project's network expansion.

The company was already commissioned by Ionity in 2018 to provide 340 chargers that enable a charging for 200 kilometres in as little as 8 minutes.

Their joint venture Ionity, which also includes Ford, Volkswagen, Audi and Porsche, has to date opened 202 charging sites across 18 European markets.
