LafargeHolcim: 10m tonnes of waste treated in 2017

(CercleFinance.com) - Geocycle, LafargeHolcim's waste management business, treated 10 million tonnes of waste in 2017, 13% more than in 2016, according to reports on Tuesday.


This volume also represents about twice the annual amount of domestic waste produced by Switzerland or the equivalent of two million garbage collection trucks.

Thanks to kilns involved in cement production, LafargeHolcim co-processed all types of waste including solid shredded waste with either industrial or municipal origin, spent solvents, used tires, waste oils, contaminated soils, industrial and sewage sludges, as well as demolition waste.
