Roche: launches blood-based genomic profiling test

(CercleFinance.com) - Roche announced on Monday the launch of a new liquid biopsy test that can identify 70 of the most commonly mutated genes in solid tumours.


From a single blood drop, FoundationOne Liquid performs next generation sequencing in a lab to analyse the four main classes of genomic alterations.

The test also features microsatellite instability, an indicator that may help inform immunotherapy treatment decisions using DNA isolated from plasma derived from peripheral whole blood.

Roche plans to improve access to targeted cancer treatments with the test.
