Novartis: study shows heart failure drug helps kidney

(CercleFinance.com) - Novartis' heart failure drug Entresto has been shown to help to preserve kidney function, according to new data from a Phase III trial presented on Monday.


This new analysis suggests that in addition to the established benefits on heart failure, Entresto helped preserve kidney function in patients with chronic heart failure - especially those with diabetes, the Swiss drugmaker said.

People with chronic heart failure and diabetes are at risk for kidney damage, Novartis said.
