Bombardier: wins Chinese train deal and CRJ Series order

(CercleFinance.com) - Bombardier said that its Chinese joint venture PBTS has been awarded a contract to provide an automated people mover system to Shenzhen Airport in China.

The joint venture will deliver an integrated package, including 18 carriages, for a 2.6 km line connecting an airside satellite to Shenzhen Airport's existing Terminal 3, the Canadian group said.

The contract is worth approximately 70 million dollars in all, with the system set to be commissioned in 2020.

Bombardier owns 50% of PBTS' shares.

In addition, Delta Air Lines has signed a firm purchase agreement for 20 CRJ Series regional jets in a deal worth approximately 961 million dollars.

Also note that Bombardier and the Downsview Aerospace Innovation and Research Consortium (DAIR) will make an announcement about the establishment of a new aerospace hub in the Greater Toronto Area later today.
