Umicore: to buy some of Haldor Topsoe's activities.

(CercleFinance.com) - Umicore has reached an agreement to acquire the heavy duty diesel and stationary catalyst businesses of Denmark's Haldor Topsoe for an enterprise value of approximately 120 million euros plus an earn-out.


The Belgian metals and speciality materials maker said it will gain access through the acquisition to an extended customer base, particularly in Europe and China.

The businesses - which currently employ some 280 people - serve customers from production plants in Frederikssund (Denmark), Houston (Texas), Tianjin (China) and Joinville (Brazil) and have R&D facilities in Lyngby (Denmark).

The acquisition is expected to be earnings accretive from 2018.
