Gimv: 'strong results' for financial year 2018/19

(CercleFinance.com) - Belgian investment group Gimv said its earnings rose in the past financial year, helped by the strong performance of companies in its portfolio.


Citing "strong results," the Antwerp-based company said that it made net profit of 112 million euros in the period from 1 April 2018 to 31 March 2019, compared to 107 million euros in the financial year 2017-2018, despite "challenging and volatile economic environment" at times.

Gimv's equity value increased to 1.32 billion euros, or 52 euros per share, from 1.27 billion euros in the previous financial year.

From its portfolio, the company made net capital gains of 101.3 million euros on divestments, plus interest and dividends, and also booked 53.9 million euros from unrealised portfolio revaluations.

After these results, Gimv said it plans to pay a dividend of 2.50 euros per share, unchanged from last year.

The Gimv share is currently down 0.7% at 53 euros on Euronext Brussels.
