Gimv: sells stake in Belgian mushroom company Walkro

(CercleFinance.com) - Belgian investment company Gimv has sold its stake in Walkro, a producer of substrate for the mushroom industry, the company said in a statement on Monday.


Today Irish company Monaghan Mushrooms has agreed to acquire all shares of Walkro held by Gimv and Walkro's management, hence becoming the Belgian group's sole shareholder, the firm said.

At the end of 2011, Walkro was acquired by Monaghan Mushrooms, together with Gimv and Walkro's management team. Since then, Walkro's turnover has grown to just over 75 million euros.

The investment in Walkro generated a return above Gimv's long-term average return, the group said, while it added that it would not provide any further financial details.
