KBC: nominates board chairman successor

(CercleFinance.com) - KBC plans to nominate Koenraad Debackere as successor to Thomas Leysen as chairman of its board of directors, the Belgian bank and insurance group said on Tuesday.


Debackere, a professor at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of KU Leuven, is currently a non-executive director of KBC Group and KBC Insurance.

Leysen announced last year that he wished to end his mandates as chairman of the board, a position that he has held since 2011 in the aftermath of the financial crisis.
