Solvay: underlying earnings up 38%.

(CercleFinance.com) - Solvay has published Q2 underlying net attributable profit of 309 million euros, up 38%, thanks to better results and lower financial charges.

Underlying EBITDA of the Belgian chemicals group rose by 18% to 705 million euros, meaning a record margin of 23%. The measures for operational excellence partially offset the increase in fixed costs.

Net sales amounted to 3,022 million euros, up 11%, with an 8.1% increase in volumes and mix, with price effects contributing 2.8%. Volumes increased in each operational segment.

These results have led Solvay to raise its underlying EBITDA growth outlook to “high single digit" for 2017. The group expects to generate free cash flow from its businesses of over 800 million euros.
