Solvay: improvement in 2016 results.

(CercleFinance.com) - Solvay has published 2016 net attributable profit (on an IFRS basis) of 621 million euros, compared with 406 million euros in 2015.
Over the period, underlying profit attributed to Solvay reached 846 million euros against 768 million euros in 2015.

Underlying EBITDA increased by 7.5% to 2,284 million euros, driven by pricing power (5.9%) and a reduction in fixed costs (2.9%). The group's EBITDA margin reached 21%, up from 19% in 2015.

Net sales amounted to 10,884 million euros, down 4.7%, having suffered from the fall in sale prices in an environment of falling commodity prices and exchange rate fluctuations, although volumes remained stable.
