American Express: EPS up 16% in Q4
(CercleFinance.com) - American Express reports EPS that rose 16% to $3.
04 for Q4 2024, on revenues net of interest expense up 9% to nearly $17.2bn (+10% excluding currency effects).
This increase is primarily attributable to strong cardholder spending, higher net interest income and accelerating growth in card fees, the payment solutions group explains.
Posting EPS growth of 25% to $14.01 and revenue growth of 9% for 2024 as a whole, it is targeting EPS growth of $15 to $15.50 and revenue growth of 8% to 10% for 2025.
In addition, American Express plans to increase its quarterly dividend by 17%, from $0.70 to $0.82 per share, starting with the dividend payment scheduled for Q1 2025.
