Saint-Gobain: power purchase agreement with Boralex
(CercleFinance.com) - Saint-Gobain has announced the signing of a 20-year contract in France for the purchase of renewable electricity (PPA) generated by three Boralex power plants (two solar and one wind) to be built between the first quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027.
"The combination of wind and solar technologies will provide Saint-Gobain's French industrial activities with a supply of renewable electricity, offering greater stability thanks to the complementary nature of the two energy sources," it explains.
The three wind farms will produce around 110 GWh per year, equivalent to the electricity consumption of more than 50,000 inhabitants over one year, and are expected to cover 10% of Saint-Gobain's electricity needs in France.
