Walgreens Boots: buys Fred's prescription records

(CercleFinance.com) - Walgreens has announced an agreement with Fred's to purchase patient prescription records and associated drug inventories from 185 stores located in ten States in the south east of North America.

Under the agreed terms, the drugstore giant will pay Fred's 165 million dollars, which could be changed, plus an amount equal to the value of associated pharmaceutical stocks.

This transaction remains subject to the end of a period required for antitrust regulations and other usual terms. Both groups plan to transfer the files in the last quarter of 2018 and the first quarter of 2019.
