Walmart: exceptional bonuses and hires in response to crisis
(CercleFinance.com) - On Thursday evening Walmart announced a special bonus for all of its employees in the United States; 300 dollars for full-time staff and 150 dollars for part-time staff, representing a total of over 365 million dollars.
In addition to this exceptional payment, the retail giant will pay a quarterly premium, totalling 180 million dollars in advance. It will thus distribute nearly 550 million dollars to its employees to help them cope with the crisis created by the pandemic.
In addition, again in response to the current environment, Walmart plans to hire 150,000 new employees by the end of May - first temporary hires - although some of which may become permanent thereafter.
