S. electric car maker Tesla said on Friday that Oracle founder Larry Ellison has joined its board as an independent director, effective today.
Ellison - who is Oracle's current chief technology officer - is a "big believer" in Tesla's case, as the businessman purchased 3 million Tesla shares earlier this year, the group said.
Tesla also announced the appointment of Kathleen Wilson-Thompson, the chief human resources officer of drugstore operator Walgreens Boots Alliance, as an independent director, effective immediately.
