Starbucks: sets environmental targets for 2030
(CercleFinance.com) - As part of its environmental commitments, Starbucks has announced that as a preliminary objective, by 2030, it will halve its CO2 emissions in its direct businesses and logistics activities.
Within ten years, the American coffee chain is also aiming to halve its water draws for its direct activities, as well as the waste thrown into landfill sites by its stores and manufacturing sites.
To meet these targets, in particular Starbucks plans to increase plant-based options in its menus, develop recyclable packaging, and to invest in "innovative and regenerative" agricultural practices.
