Qualcomm: signs licence deal with Nokia phone maker
(CercleFinance.com) - US cellphone chip supplier Qualcomm said it entered into a license deal with HMD Global, the Finnish company that owns the rights to use Nokia's brand on mobile phones and tablets.
Under the terms of the agreement, Qualcomm has granted HMD Global royalty-bearing patent licenses to develop, manufacture and sell branded 3G, 4G and 5G devices, the California-based chipmaker said.
Headquartered in Espoo, Finland, HMD Global is the exclusive licensee for the design and marketing of Nokia phones and tablets.
